Inquiry in Motion: Open Floor Movement meets Somatic Experiencing® ~ Feb 10-12 in Mill Valley

Join us as we embark on a dynamic exploration of the truth that resides in our own body. Through movement, dance and mindful inquiry, we will journey below the stories about who we are and who we should be.

Guided by a weave of the Open Floor movement practice and Somatic Experiencing® principles, we will strengthen our skills to listen, track and follow our innate emotional intelligence, discovering how it speaks to us through sensation, textures and tones. From our practice on the dance floor, you will develop greater trust in your body’s natural intelligence that will enable you to live with more awareness, vitality and joy.

About the Webinar:

We have all had some trauma in our lives which means that our nervous systems have been compromised. Healing Trauma from the Inside Out, Practices from the East and West offers skills to help restore our system back to wholeness through yoga breathing techniques, gentle yoga stretches and the chakra system from Eastern philosophy and traditions. The webinar will address how the chakra system can be applied to somatic techniques and yoga asanas (poses).

Listeners will learn:

* Yoga breathing exercises (pranayama)
* How to flow between contracted and more open areas of the body through gentle yoga poses (asana)
* Eastern philosophy of the chakra System and how it relates to somatic therapy and the emotional body
* How to apply somatic therapy techniques to the Warrior Sequence in yoga for empowerment
* How to apply somatic techniques with chair yoga for peace and contentment
